My Life Milestones (thus far)...

  • Born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 20, 1993. At this point I had an older sister, Kelly, who protected me like a lion.
  • Moved to Fort Collins, CO when I was 3 years old and soon after was gifted with a little sister named Mallory. I remember trying to get my mom to name her Katherine so bad because I didn't like the name Katherine. 
  • I feel lucky to have had a relatively normal childhood with loving parents and a wonderful family. As a child I was shy and timid, curious and competitive but sweet as sugar. 
  • I played soccer competitively my whole life, was a straight A student and had amazing friends. 
  • I decided to follow in my dad and Kelly's footsteps and attend the University of North Carolina for college. I studied advertising and psychology after the typical struggle to decide what I wanted to do FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.
  • It was in North Carolina that I believe I 'found myself' as the saying goes. I broke out of my shell, faced the hardest academic challenges to date, joined a sorority, studied abroad in Australia, and ultimately had the most incredible 4 years of my life thus far with the most incredible people. 
  • Following graduation, I decided to forego the normal career path and jumped on a plane with a one way ticket to Thailand with my best friend. I traveled, meditated, became a certified yoga teacher and faced some pretty crazy scenarios.
  • After 6 months of frolicking around South East Asia, I returned to my home state of Colorado

My Dog Brandy

The Day I Got My Best Friend...

The day we got Brandy, she was dropped off to our house. My sisters and I waited anxiously at the door - poking our heads in and out of the windows. I remember my mom telling us she was a service dog that failed out of training...but apparently she could still open doors. That blew my mind (and ended up not being true).

She is probably the sweetest, kindest and now largest dog on the planet. 13 and still kicking it. 

A Piece of Advice

The Mad Ones

Years ago I received a piece of advice from a school teacher in the form of a quote. That quote has guided my life and I want to share it:

"The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones that never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes "Awww!"
